    Squeaking noise from rear

    87 325i Sedan

Car is making this annoying squeaking noise from the rear of the car, at first I thought it might have been the rear seats lose, but not sure. Anyone have any idea or similar problem? I know the RSM's and suspension are probably shot(stock) but anything else? Planning on bilstein n H&R's soon, but in the mean time would love to stop that noise.

    Thanks!

Most likely the rear shock mount.

Rear shocks, mounts, sway bushings, sway links, and trailing arm bushings are all possibilities at this point.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

LOL, yea, it squeaks while driving, going over bumps doesn't seem to change it at all, and it sounds like its coming from the backseat area. Im thinking RSM's as well, will replace when I splurge on my shock/spring combo :P

cracked rotor? my car was making a noise like I had a stick stuck in a spoke while driving slow in traffic with a retaining wall next to me so I could hear it very well. Pulled over and the rotor had a very small crack in it.

I would replace the rear shock mounts first. As others have mentioned, it's probably a combination of RSMs and bushings. If the squeaking is killing you, try hitting the suspension with some WD40 for a temporary fix.

rsm and sway linkage are the common thinks to squeak in the rear.
