How the hell do I replace this rubber gas line?

Was prepping my car to remove the fuel filter since my M50's been having stupid hesistations and this filter and everything around it looked pretty old, when all of a sudden the rubber line decided to go! WTF?

How do I go about replacing this thing? It's the rubber line that goes from the top of the tank to the filter. I can't trace where it's coming from but it appears to be the top of the tank which I am NOT dropping my gas tank to do this.

Pop off the access covers under the rear seat and you might be able to snake a new one in there. It will at least give you a better idea of what you're dealing with.

You better believe your ass you're dropping that gas tank, because that's the only way.

      Nah, Jk. IDK

This is what I would do...cut line, insert splice insert (repair tubing), fasten with hose clamps. I would try that before stressing over replacing it. But, it is under pressure, so who knows how well that would hold up over the long run.

tried the cover under the seat, doesn't show or tell me anything. I'm gonna do what Hey You recommended, should hold up.

how much do you like your e30? serious question.

i'd recommend dropping the tank if that's the recommended way to do it. you need to make sure your fuel lines are 100%. ask me how i know.

I actually don't like my E30 much at all, it's much prettier then my old M50 bronzit but not nearly as mechanically awesome.

That line is the only one that looks to be bad, I don't know how but as you can see it looks as if something took a bite out of it haha, the rest look very fine and dandy and even the subframe "T" brake divider thing is fairly rust and corrosion free. The lines don't worry me it just looks like something took a chunk out of this one.

You need to be VERY careful with fuel lines. I wouldn't cover it up, I wouldn't go a day without checking it if you do it as I said. The way I recommended is if you are in a tight spot, and don't have time to properly fix it. One bad move and BAM, you are one crispy critter, and you blow up your burnt bits all over someone elses car somewhere. Please fix it correctly if you can.

Before I try that I'm going to cut the line at the pinch and see if I can get the filter up there with a bracket of some sort.

Try lowering the tank a little, and you can snake it out. Use a jack with plywood on top and just lower it enough to snake it out. I did it that way.
