Can someone explain why and how the DME could not be grounded and how I could fix it?

Back in my VW days, a common problem with Digifant fuel systems (very similar to Motronic 1.3) was that the fuel injector driver circuit within the ECU would fry due to bad grounds and would cause the engine to flood since the injectors would stick completely open when the ignition was on. I had it happen on 2 of my VW's due to a ground wire which broke. I am not exactly sure where/how the DME in our E30s is grounded, but I believe the ground that goes to the passenger. Strut tower is for the DME and I have heard that the DME has its own + power wiring which goes back to the fusible link near the battery in the trunk.

The DME ground is a collection of several brown wires that ground on the right side strut tower.

The DME is powered by the small wire from the battery positive post. That wire includes a fusible link near the battery.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.
