    Clutch options, five speed swap

I'm doing a five speed swap on my 85 325e, and while I'm in there want to get the good stuff, but not spend too much. bavauto.com has there clutch kit with EVERYTHING needed to do a clutch job for 259.99, but it's all factory parts. Is there a cheap aftermarket clutch, or is the only other option the expensive Sachs sport clutch? How much better is the sport setup? Centerforce has one, but it's like $600. Also, I have a flywheel, but I'm not sure what it's from, its either a 325i or 325e flywheel. Whats the single/dual mass deal? Whats the weight of each? Will the type of flywheel depend on what clutch I need to order, or should I just get one for a 325e? I'm also getting a short shift kit, and all new bushings for that. I spent about $300 at the dealer getting every single part for the conversion that wears out, all the little bolts and nuts and gaskets and washers, everything. I want to do this right. I got a used driveshaft, tranny with 60k miles, and I'm gettin all new cltuh parts, slave and master cylinders, guibo, driveshaft support, and all that stuff. Any other suggestions?

    Thanks,
    Justin

You didn't state what used tranny you're getting. Based on the location of your sensors for the eta, you're going to need an eta specific tranny (pre 88 ).

Stock clutches hold just fine unless you're going to boost the car or run insane NA power which doesn't seem to be your case. "Cheap & aftermarket" are two words you don't want to combine on an items such as clutches.... just stay OEM and you're good to go.

You need the dual mass flywheel. It is spring loaded and has uses a different type of mechanism over the single mass. You can use the early eta dual mass and save a little weight over the latter. Sorry but I don't have the weights of the 3 different flywheels in comparison. Look in the for sale forum, someone has an early dual mass (lighter than the latter dual mass) for sale.

Compare prices with pelican parts clutch kit. You might as well change your rear main seal while you are in there. What parts did u get @ $300 from the dealer? That seems like a lot but I am curious as to what you got. You need new flywheel bolts too incase you haven't gotten them.

    Good luck.

      Thanks.

I'll weigh the flywheel and maybe someone can tell me which one it is.

I got a box full of stuff, 4 pages worth of al the nuts gaskets bolts clips seals bushings bearings, basically everything on the ETK besides the main parts, I just had the dealer give me everything the ETK showed on the tranny/shifter/clutch pages, except for the big stuff. I got new flywheel bolts. Is there any bolts holding the driveshaft on? How does it attach at the ends, as I should get new bolts for that too if it requires them.
