    lost my fxin key!

    can someone advise me how i would go about getting a new key? autozone doesnt sell full ignitons for my car. and lock smiths are charging 90+ to fcking make a new key.
    wheres the xtc when u need it?

    Take your title to the dealer, they will cut you a key. $90 is a good deal to have a key made on site.

      90 + 15 for molbile service and they said it starts at 90.. will bmw do t for less or free?

        Yeah, BMW is gonna give you a free key for a 20+ year old car for free. Just do that, I forgot their lifetime key replacement program.

            its 50 for 2 keys but you have to wait like a day or two for them


            do you have AAA?
            if so then you get free key

                your right i cant afford AAA or a locksmith. good call bro! thank you too the guy with the information on the 2 keys for $50. thats affordable still dont want to pay for it! not to mention they are only open on monday. can the make a new key from the vin number or i tow the car there?

                    Your dealer will order a key by the car's VIN. It takes a few days to get the keys as I think they come from NJ. You will need ID and proof of ownership. Your title is best, but registration should work.

                        A new ignition lock will not really help you because its very hard to remove the old one without having a key. BMW is your best bet. I paid $70 for mine to be cut from the VIN and took few days

                            my brother got me a key for $40 from the dealership with my title. he worked for a bmw shop at the time though.

                              Keep your original keying because, as you found out, you can always order a key from the dealer with proper documentation. Even if you ever end up buying a whole new set of locks for you car, rekey them to your old key (it's not difficult to do).
