Can someone please inform me what these buttons do?
I only have the big one since I have a coupe. For about 2 weeks I thought it was just a switch blank for where a heated seat switch would be if I had heated seats. As a result, I thought my windows were broken and had them on my list of things to fix. Then one day I was just sitting in the car pushing every button and knob and all of the sudden my windows worked.

Haha that is a cool story. Damn I wish I had heated seats, my friend has a 88' vert and it has heated seats. Wttttfff? I dont understand why BMW didn't make 89 sedans with heated seats .
Yours is a coupe and the circuit breaker is in the dash.
I quoted a comment about an ejector seat so thought my sarcasm was obvious.
Actually, my coupe is an 84 318i with cranks & after 13 years I still think of it as "my car". The new to me Cabrio does have the long button and it is on the console.
Seat Shocks....I have passed the baton to John Christy from Ninestitch. Email John or Garrett at ninestitch1@gmail.com
Small square one is rear window switch lockout, and the one on the right is the circuit breaker for the windows.
The small is to cut off the rear ones from being operated... but pretty much this, I replaced mine with an early console that doesn't have them two buttons, I think it looks cleaner.. no need to be pushing to many damn buttons... unless you have couple whores and don't want them rolling down their windows... eh

Not that you'll be back to read this, but not all cars were optioned with heated seats.
It is an option. My '87 vert didn't have them, my '85 eta didn't have them, my '90 iS did have them.

I don't understand why cabrios have them.
The more I think about it the more it bugs me. What years don't have them in the console and who has one for sale?
Das ist nicht nur nicht richtig, es ist nicht einmal falsch!
