    Door latch, pin binding issue

well i've finally got into fixing door lock issues on my e30.

the issue i'm trying to fix is a stuck door lock pin. it just wont go down, and is causing the inability to lock all the doors (stopping the central locking from staying locked)

anyways, i've taken apart the door lock and done a rebuilt, as well as disconnecting the actuator to check its status. both of these things work great.

now what i'm able to diagnose is that wherever or however the pin is attached to the latch mechanism it is somehow jammed. the problem is that its a 4 door and i cant see shit inside the door. do have to replace the whole latch assembly or is there some other way to aleviate the problem?

real oem diagram shows the mechanism as one big part: http://realoem.com/bmw/showparts.do?...04&hg=41&fg=40

well, just as a follow up to anyone who searches and needs answers:

i replaced the drivers door lock and got a new key
i replaced both the drivers and passenger latch mechanism from a donor car
i didnt replace the passenger lock, it was really clean still

now all my doors function 100%

Did you find the problem with the door latch that you replaced? Was it bent or just dirty?

I'm having the same issue in my driver front door. The locking mechanism seems to be binding up.

the latch was the the biggest problem in my case. not real dirty, just binding somewhat from having no lubrication left in it. I greased up the replacement like crazy, worked smooth as butter.
