    Windows screech/scrape when going up/down

Coupe. Windows scrape/screech when going up down. I know people often have problems with gear wear/stripping, but this is like glass on metal or metal on metal scraping sounds. I tried to regrease the regulator, but practically no difference. Anyone else fought with this before?

try cleaning and then greasing the window guide. if not, your motor is about to die.

The motors are replaceable separately right? I have a seized one on my passenger side... it just got slower and slower going up and down, until it just doesn't go down anymore.

Never made any odd noises, just doesn't go down anymore, good thing it's closed.

I would clean to new metal all connectors, grounds and switches, lube the channel and see what you get.

Yes. It's a 10 minute job, just need the right size torx bit. I don't recall exactly which one it is though.
AND, unlike the regulators. Early and late style use the same motor. It's all the same motor. Early, late, passenger, driver, front, rear. No difference in the motor itself other than manufacturers.

So, dug into this a bit. My windows have the tube style regulators and not the scissor type. The screeching seems to be the windows rubbing against the metal clips at the top of the door cards. The ones that squeeze over the metal. Not sure how to stop it though. Am I missing a piece of trim?
