Super eta fuel pump vs standard eta fuel pump

Anyone know the difference, are they compatible, etc. I'm having problems with an engine transplant and suspect this may be creating some of the problems.

The external fuel pump under the drivers side rear should be the exact same part. I dont know about the intank pump tho.

      Wont work at all.

All '88 and up E30s with the exception of M3s have a single main pump inside the tank rather than the dual setup with the external main pump and secondary in tank pump. Since super eta is '88 then you're out of luck here.

88+ e30s have a single in tank pump, unlike the earlier models which have the dual pump setup. I don't know if you can get it to work.

Can it be reconfigured to take a dual pump setup?

You'd have to swap gas tanks to make it work. Rock on if you do it though; the older style setup is superior.

Really? How come? Not trying to be ignorant, just really don't know why.

Reliability is the main thing. The big single pumps burn out faster.
