    Cheap Clutch Stop!!!

I was at Lowes the other day and saw something that would work for a clutch stop. I bought a 3/8-16 x 2-1/2 Elevator Bolt. It was only $1.75!!! I had to grind it a little shorter but it fits great. also the rubber on the stock stop fits the new metal one.

why would you put an SAE threaded bolt in your car?

i built my own clutch stop at lowes using a metric bolt, big washer, 2 nuts, and a rubber chair leg cap. couple bucks and works great

I agree. Use the right size bolt.

i would but they didn't have a metric elevator bolt. the standard one fits fine.

I made one with a lowes bolt~ it was 1.5 inches long but it had the clutch stop jusssttt before it cought and it was a strange feeling to drive

so I took it out and dont use a clutch stop now

it was only 25 cents though, so I dont feel like I wasted much

that's why you're supposed to ADJUST it. thread it in pretty far, then start the car and adjust it back out until the clutch engages/disengages fully. now lock down the jam nuts and finish off your beer

it was screwed in all the way, so a 1 inch bolt would have given me a extra half inch of travel below where the clutch disenguages~ I might go spend another 25 cents and see if I like that any better.
