yeah, i suspected it was an alarm system. I bought my car from a dealer so I never got any of that important information. But now i'm not afraid to get it removed.Comment

It's an early dealer instaled piece for your alarm that was put in here in the US. Most eS and iS car have them from early days.Comment

I have always wondered the same question and could never find an answer.
I also always thought it had to be something like what rs4pro3 said.
It has two little terminals inside, so it had to be for giving power to something. I just figured it was to hook up diagnostic tools or something.Comment
