    325e Leaking Noise!

I recently bought a 1986 325e and their's a fuel vacuum leak and hissing noise coming right from the rear of the car. When I turn ignition on, their's no leaking noise. But as I start the car, their's a leaking noise coming from the rear driver side.Another thing I noticed is that my car is burning to much gas.Yesterday I filled my car up to quarter tank and right after I drove 5 miles it went from quarter tank to half a quarter tank.:(

    So Please HELP ME!!

is there leaking fuel onto the ground? there is a fuel filter there as well (I believe) as an external fuel pump.

There is also a metal 'Y' behind the cover on the inside of the rear wheelarch- it often rusts through.

AND there's a return line from the engine that vents to the tank that's up there.
A malfunction in the canister purge system would pull vacuum back there
      continuously.

Sounds like it's time to take that cover off, scrape out the dirt, and see what's up there.

      It's usually a mess...
