Fireballs from exhaust...

so i was cruising last nite with some biker frends, and a couple of them said they saw fire shooting out of my exhaust a couple times when i was WOT. this just means im running rich rite? i recently put in some e36 m3 17.5lb injectors, and my gas mileage has been the shits, so im assuming im running rich. BTW i have a JC chip if that makes any difference...

I find that unlikely. Cats/resonators usually quench any fire long before it gets to the muffler and out the tailpipe.

I've seen evo 8s do that on the track, I think they were stock.

my buddies 2.5 M3 with wild cams will shoot 2' flames out the back visible during the day at WOT. no cat though

Its posible ive seen cat(s) do this when there crapining out. Well in your case that rich mixture could have caused it to go bad.

they have no reason to lie about it. ive known these guys for years. as far as my CAT going bad, maybe thats the case...

My chipped, cammed, and pulley'ed corrado g60 used to burp flames all the time with and without a cat... alot more so without tho

An overly rich mixture can also melt the core of the cat.
