    Clutch pedal bushing replacement

I'm replacing the clutch pedal bushings. Can I pull the long bolt out that goes through the pedal box without disturbing the brake? Is there enough room to fully remove the bolt to R&R the bushings?

    (I'm installing UUC bushings.)

    Thanks dudes.

What do you mean "disturbing" the brake?

I think you should be able to get the clutch pedal out by pulling the pivot pin/axle thingie.

Post up a review of the job when you get it done, I have been curious if that is worth it or not.

The large pin / axel thing goes through the brake pedal too, that's the point. Since the pedal is under pressure upwards, will it "spring" out so I can't get the bolt back in?

the brake pedal shouldn't be under any significant pressure. also, you could pull the pin out of the MC.

I have no idea what a "clutch pedal bushing" even is?

Ah, so I can disconnect the brake from the master, makes sense.

The clutch arm pivots on this large "pin", with two bushings that allow for movement. It has lateral load applied to it, since the main spring is offset. Also, when you press the clutch, it tends to be pressed slightly sideways as well as inwards. This wears the bushings, and mine has a tiny chatter if you try to move it slowly. Ordinarily, this isn't a problem but I have clutch with a very small friction point. In order to start off smoothly, the clutch arm needs to move smoothly, and so I end up with a terrible slow start most of the time.

With the clutch master link and main spring disconnected, the clutch arm just hangs freely. Even then, if I move it slowly I can feel the tiniest binding in the pivot.

          Here's what I'm installing:

It's one of those things that is a minor, tiny but constant irritant. It will be great when its resolved. I'll try to take some pics.

ah. my car doesn't have the spring. I also thought my bushing was metal, but it's been a while since I've had that apart.
