Ranom no-start scenario - Ground, starter, alternator??

So, just recently my car started behaving erratically. I'll turn the key and it'll go "Click!" but not start. I turn the key again - same thing. Sometimes I'll turn the key 25+ times and nothing. And then randomly it'll fire up. I turn it off - try again...."Click!".

Anyone have this issue before? Is it my starter? I've never had a starter behave like this. Usually I'd bang on it with something like a breaker bar. This has no effect on my current situation.

I'm thinking it could be my alternator - but then why the random starts?

    Any help is appreciated...

sounds like a ground issue to me.

      ^ Agreed.

Check your main engine ground. Mine would act up randomly, and when I finally got sick of parking only in spaces that would allow me to push start it, I replaced it. Now I could park at the bottom of a sand pit.

I looked and I don't even see one. Is it hiding from me?

You gotta pull the air box.

I'm just going to use that article you posted to replace all of them.

A solenoid can still make the click click and be bad. The banging on the started only check the brushes. What you are doing is as the brushes wear they ground to the case and you bang them off.
Pull the starter and bench test it. You can do it your self with a friend and jumper cables.

KISS method is better than immediately pulling parts.

Checking a ground cable is less work than pulling the starter, and just as likely to be the cause.

There's no way I'm pulling the starter. That's a bear of a job. I'm going to replace my grounds and hope for the best. They probably need to be replaced anyways - I have all of the other symptoms of bad grounds.
