black plastic piece that holds the trunk seal on...how do i get the connectors off?

I need to remove the black plastic peice that spans the width of the trunk and holds down the trunk seal.

Is there a trick to removing the connectors? I'd rather not break them if I don't have to...

push the center pins down through the trunk. if you take out the trunk liner, you can retrieve them.

take a phillips screw driver and hammer the plastic pins through and it should contract the internal rivets for you to pull it straight up.

you can collect the pins after.
