In order to reset the OBC you need a paper clip or a pen. Stick the paper clip in to the small hole next to the number one in the bottom rig...

The display is probably dim because one of the backlight bulbs has burned out. The easy fix to to get a new bar. The bulbs can be replaced, but at $20 for the light it hardly seems worth the effort.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

I replaced the bulb with LED. Simple procedure...you need to get some high intensity amber LED (search the internet - 100 LEDs for @ $5). You also need some 330 ohms resistors from Radioshack. Follow this procedure.

To set the time, get a small pencil and push a little indent on the bottom right corner to get to the setting mode. The procedure is in Bentley if you cannot figure it out, but it is pretty straight forward.

They are more like $36 shipped - just FYI.

I recently bought a bar from my dealer for about $20.
