Need e30 AC expansion valve cross referance info

    02 EXPANSION VALVE R12 1 64511466259 $55.52

per the etk that be the one I need. Freaking thing is not available here and obviously I want to replace my R12 since it is much cheaper than converting.

Anyone know of a valve from an e36 and up that will work? Parts are available here for cars e36 & newer.

    Thanks

i think when they are talking about the expansion valve they mean the Reciever Dryer, you should beable to find one almost anywhere, aslong as it is the same size?

I wish. I got a receiver dryer that was close enough after the idiot that ruined the expansion valve by not back flushing or using the new receiver dryer I gave him.

      I need #2

So I will be driving ac_less for 24 hours but when I return I will have the correct valve which needs to be installed. Anyone done this?

Please tell me the easiest way to access the valve WITH THE LEAST DASH REMOVAL. The dealer has never done this and has no clue and wants to remove the whole freaking thing. Miraculously I have no dash area squeaks and want it to remain so. Please tell me the most direct route to the expansion valve.

        Gracias!

I bought an expansion valve from Bavarian Auto last year. It was actually a lot cheaper to buy the drier for R134 and convert than buying the R12 drier and R12 for the refill. There is no quick shortcut to remove the expansion valve. Follow the instructions in the Bently. Still a PITA but do-able.

I have the valve and will have it done using R12 which is cheap and plentyful one of the few major benifits (along with cheap labor) of living in Mexico.

Hell I pay less than 50.00 to replace an oilpan for that cheap no way I am doing it myself (hopefully it won't need to be done again)
