    A little confused

I'm at a loss and tired of scratching my head trying to figure this out. Have done google and forum searches but can find MY problem.

I have and 89 325i when I got the car the tach did not work, so I got a donor cluster swapped parts to make a good one. Went to test it out and noticed that the fuel gauge almost read empty. I have gone 125miles on this take so far so I know that's not right. So I pulled it all back apart and swapped fuel gauges and the one that was in the original cluster read completely full?

So one read empty the stock one read full. They both moved when I turned the car on. And from my searches it doesn't seem like the sending unit.

Does anyone have ANY imput at all?! Thank you in advance!

your donor cluster must've been from an early model. swap out the fuel gauge from your old cluster and put it on the one you're gonna use.

early model has one sender while late models have 2. had this problem as well but fixed it now.

What was wrong with my tach was a wire on the board was caroted so I used the donor board and swaped everything but the temp gauge. Could that be my problem?

Fill the car with gas and then see which one would read full.
        Caroted????
