4 pin, 3 wire connector under steering column

so while doing my m50 swap to my eta i was in the process of removing my brake booster when i discovered an electrical nightmare underneath my steering column.

the PO had wired in an aftermarket alarm with the precision of a caveman, using electrical tape, scotch locks, and tapping into every possible wire to use for power and ground.

after removing all of the bullshit he had wired in i found two seperate 4 pin connectors underneath the dash that were not plugged into anything and was wondering if anyone knew what they were.

i did a quick search on both google and didnt find anything, so heres my thread.

An unmolested E30 has several unused connectors under the dash. In this case, using the wiring diagrams from http://wedophones.com/BMWManualsLead.htm undo what what done and proceed from there. It will be a lot easier if you remove the dash.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

There is a small box that leaks like a speaker attached to the lower trim panel underneath your steering wheel. You will see two corresponding locations that match the shape of those two plugs in your picture. Put these together and you have a door chime.

Unless you don't have the lower cover...

hmmm that makes sense. this did have some POS alarm system that beeped when the door was open, thats probably why these were unplugged in place of that. thanks guys!
