Is this possible with the clearances? I have it off since timing belt broke so wondered if it was possible. Just to give it a bit more compression. Would the performance gains be worth it if its possible?

With the stock cam you can do it, but raising the compression is a risky thing on M20s because they are already on the verge of pinging as they are. Whats the highest gas octane you can get at the pump?Adam Fogg- '88 M3

what is the stock compression on our M20s? and could this be done with the use of 93 octane?Claus Luthe is my hero.

2.5s are 8.8. You could plane a little on 93 octane. I'd still try to keep compression under 9.5 on 93 though.Adam Fogg- '88 M3
