Good news. It appears that plugging and unplugging the TPS (for the purpose of running a test) has fixed my idling issues for the most part. It now idles at ~900. My guess is the connection was corroded perhaps. This seems like it was too simple of a fix.

The part of a proper smoke test is intake pressure. If you want to find obvious leaks you can just take a hit of hookah and pump intake with the smoke but this will not find any of the smaller leaks (injectors, etc) because pressure is too low.
I always use carb cleaner trick and it works really well on E30/E34, etc since everything is out there in the open.Comment
