Temp/digital clock (or OBC) display scrambled !

I don't have an OBC, but a temp gauge/digital clock instead. Lately I have been having an intermittent (getting more frequent) problem with the display getting scrambled.

Anyone have the same problem - or know how to go about fixing this issue?

My 6 button does that as well sometimes. I just push in on it in the middle between the buttons. Fixes it for a couple days ;)

Yah I can push on the screen, or smack the dash a few times, and the problems will go away for a bit.
It's really annoying - I always see this scrambling in the corner or my eyes, and I need it fixed!

New obc, convert to a 13button!!!

"Having won more road races than any other model in history, the E30 M3 is considered by many to be the world's most successful road race car." - Simply put, E30s kick ass.

keep it, its just giving you codes from outerspace somewhere!! someone will believe you. take it out of the dash, smack it on the ground a few times and put it back in. it fixed one of mine for a few days, till i realized it was just trying to tell me the winning lotto numbers.

LOL yeah my 13 button, the clock works, but every other button I push displays PPPP.... No idea WTF that means, but all I use is the clock really.. i'm sure the rest of it would be inaccurate anyway
                  Project e30 m3 starts now..... :D

mine does this once in a while, I just smack it and it goes back to normal. most likely just a loose connection inside from years of vibrations.

Yah I figured it would be something like that. The 'problem' used to go away after 1 smack, but now it needs several hard blows for it to dissapear.
                        I'm getting really pissed off.
I think I need to buy a new 6 button clock.

seriously, the swap is super easy to a 13 button. now seems to be a good time to switch over... there is info about pppppp somewhere on here, I have seen it before.

I just added Dan Gillian's writeup on it to our DIY and FAQ section. I believe it is on page 2.
