Do other oem steering wheels fit e30's?

I thought i saw some pics of e46/53 steering wheels on e30's. Same splines? Extensive work?

pretty sure they swapped the entire steering column and a lot of other electronics with it, not just a wheel swap.

pretty much up to the E34 they're interchangeable but E36 and later are not.
