Quick checklist of issues in the cabrio...

After a nice coastal cruise in the cabbie earlier today, I came up with a short list of things I would like to diagnose and troubleshoot before putting it away for the winter (and tearing it apart, etc)

    First question:
Can anyone give me the list of fuse locations and amp ratings for a cabrio? I used the coupe's map and ended up leaving the power window fuse open - apparently they're all different. I want to go through and make sure all fuses are accounted for and the correct rating - can someone get it for me?

    Next Question:
Blower motor does nothing. Don't see anything fuse related, and I ruled out the resistors, as all 4 not working seemed to be unlikely. Perhaps Dave has an idea on this.

    Next:
When I use my turn signal and have the headlights on, the high beams come on erratically - is this a bad turn signal switch, or can I clean up the one I have/rebuild it?

    Thanks guys!

Blower motor worked on the trip up to C-Bus that day. Hmmm . . . . .
On my Chrysler van I used to have, the resistor blowing resulted only in intermittent operation of the fan on the highest setting. Sure its not a resistor thing? I'm no electrical guru.

As for the TS/High beam switch, sounds like it would be in the switch. It used to do that to me a long time ago, and I pulled a couple relays, cleaned them off, and it never happened again.

I have a spare switch here if you want it. I bought it at the time and never installed it.

As for the fuses, i used the Bentley list. I typically only used it to TS things.

I thought I remembered it working when I played with it - meh. If it was the resistors, I feel like it would have worked at least on and off, but it never came on. I'm wondering if maybe the fuse spot for the cabbie is different than the one for the coupe and I left it open or something. Does the bentley show a cabbie fuse box?

I figured it was a simple fix for the TS switch - I'll take a look at this one and see if I want to just yank it out.

Blower motor fuse is fuse 20 (30amp). I BELIEVE that the relay for it is Relay K7 too. Get a multimeter and see if the blower motor ever has any power with the blower motor switch set on speed 4. If it does and the motor still doesnt spin, make sure it spins by hand. The motor might have died. If it does NOT have power, see if fuse 20 has power. If it does, check power on the back of the blower motor speed switch. If it doesnt, wiring between fuse 20 and the switch has an open in it. If it does, the switch is probably bad. Try that stuff and see if that finds the problem. If not, let me know and I can send you the wiring diagram for the blower motor I used to tell you all this.

That pic is too big, so thats why I didnt just make it a pic on here. Thats all the fuses. I got that list off of Motor/Alldata so... it SHOULD be correct but I dont know if the coupe/cabby are different. Hopefully that helps.

I looked up the wiring diagram on Motor/Alldata at school. Also, testing every little thing to make sure it works is the key. You cant be a parts changer, you gotta pinpoint the problem. :)

Oh yea... make sure Relay K7 has power as well if the fuse has no power. lol

Damn Will, thanks for taking the cock out of your mouth to share all that. I'm thoroughly impressed :)

Binky - thanks, it looks familiar (ie reminds me of the coupe diagram) I'm pretty sure all I did was pull #17 (thinking it was for the power sliding roof) and shot myself in the foot. I hate those "factory" fuses - I replaced them all with the newer shiny plastic ones. Yes, I know the old ones are easier to see from the top if they're blown, but meh.

                        Scott,

What's wrong with the power sliding roof? It should be fully functional. ;-)

I think it's the flux capacitor - I ran it low on blinker fluid, I'd better go top it off.

Fly out here, take it apart, and figure it out if you're so damned intent on finding the problem. I'll even let you put on that cute little pink dress you wore for me the last time - I know you feel pretty in it, and I care about you baby. :)
