Diagnosis plug wires at instrument cluster?

    Here's a weird one....

I have a Toyota 3SGE Beams engine converted E30 (1989 318i), and due to the use of the Toyota engine wiring i no longer have the diagnosis plug etc in the engine bay.

As i am trying to keep the car looking stock even down to the instruments (everything works as it should atm) would like to still be able to reset the service lights.

Can anyone help with plug and wires needed to jump to reset the lights? I have asked the guy who wired the car and he was no help at all, so it is now up to me to get this sorted.

My thoughts are that if it eminates from the cluster i should be able to reset it at this point (providing the batteries are still ok)

    Any help is greatly appreciated.

    This is the conversion.

What i am trying to fix

Ground pin 22 in the blue connector on the back of the cluster (with the connector still attached to the cluster). Turn on ignition, but don't start the car. Wait 5 seconds. turn off ingition, remove ground.

Just remove the LEDs from the SI board.

George graves offers a conversion, turns the SI lights into a voltage gauge....might be worth getting.

There is also a disconnect switch or jumper on the SI board itself. I believe this will remove power and reset service interval.

This only applies to instrument clusters with coding chip on the front.

Thanks for the plug FLG -The Si lights are there just to remind you to take your car to the dealer....so you can remove the board and someone suggested, or (a small plug for myself) you can convert it to a voltmeter.

                    Thanks everyone.

For me i like the novelty feature of keeping as much of the stock vehicle as possible (even if it is a bit if a wank factor) hopefully it will all reset.
