great! guys a DEQ run my cars temp into the red zone!

Well i noticed the water temp to rise while i had to wait like 30 minutes in line to get my cars emissions tested. I would have turned it off but i had to pull forward every couple minutes. it didnt go much higher then normal so i didnt think anything of it. As the car is getting tested i see him go through the gears on the rollers. Then do it agian which is a bad sign becasse it means i didnt pass the first time. SO he goes through 1st 2nd and 3rd like 4 more times and for some reson it didnt pass becase the THC was 1.6 and the max was 1.2. So im pulling out on to the road and i notice the temp gauge was starting to reach the red so i quick turn on the heat full blast and it goes back to normal in like minute then continues to go to a little below normal. I drive a couple more miles to the tire place i was going and get out and the engine seemed to feel as hot as it always does. The oil and coolant seemed ok but i need to look at them under better lighting. I know the heads on these are very easy to warp, but do you think the engine should be ok?

and i drove around for a while and the car passed with .95 HC

Where TF did you take it that they put it on rollers? I just took mine to the DEQ station in Sherwood and I stayed in the car and let it idle for like 30 seconds, then they had me keep it in neutral and rev it to 2500 rpms for another 30 seconds. That was the extent of the test. I passed with flying colors.

Strange. My 84 318 didn't have to go on them.

That's because an M10 doesn't have enough power to make the rollers roll. ;)
