    1991 121hp 325i?!

About a month ago I bought a 1991 325i coupe with manual transmission, I checked the cars paperwork and it says 121hp  So I then checked a bmw vin decoder and in the specs it also says 121hp!! :hitler:

Did these cars came in 91 with less hp than other e30-i years?

as fa as i know i cars that are us spec should be 167hp my 88 seta is 127hp and i think a standard 325e is about that 121hp, but no e cars were made in 91 so something is off there. is it a us spec car?

Someone swapped the 318i for a 325 on your trunk. You're missing 2 cylinders...

              heh

You have a 318is. Sorry, and you're welcome.

it could be a 325i with a dash swapped from a eta and they never swapped the vin? eta's had 121hp 171tq

your door tag will tell all. as ben said, if you're using the dash tag, it may have been swapped and not changed...pretty common.

b25s should run 167bhp. nuff said.

If the chassis is a US 1991 it could be a 318is (140hp) or a 325i (168hp) assuming the original engine is in the car. The dash VIN plate isn't trustworthy as the dash could have been replaced. Since it is stamped into the metal the VIN on the forward edge of the cowl can be trusted. As to the engine in the car, a picture of the engine bay will allow us to narrow down the possibilities.

The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.
