CEL flashing on a 86 325is. no codes

I'm about to buy a 1986 325is and the car had a "check" light flashing and I attempted the stop test but the light had at a continues steady flash. It never stopped or gave me breaks withing the flashing.
My question is, does anyone know why this is?

You sure it's not an 88is BMW made no 86is , they made an 86es which light on the check panel is on ?

Your right! I don't think its an "is" I just looked at the trunk and it didn't have the badge. It actually doesn't have any emblem so it must be an "e"? :(
The light just says "check" and keeps flashing.

look at the panel up by the mjrror... anything from oil to low washer fluid does that...

Oh alright thanks. It did have other little lights on but I can't remember which ones they were. Thanks guys
