    m30b35 overheating..

just recently, my e30 started overheating. it takes normal time to running temp, but begins to just keep climbing. Car has had the thermostat removed. I was wanting to try and bleed the lines, but it states that you need to turn your heater on high. I have no heat in my car, therefor I cannot do that .Any advice? I'm new to the game and would love a helping hand.

Does it only keep climbing while idling or also while driving?

I had overheating problems which I covered here:
I recently acquired another E30 and am officially back in the E30 scene. Unfortunately the car had an overheating problem among other things, and facing a 2500 mile trip ahead of me, this overheating problem needed to get sorted. Basically at idle and while driving the heat gauge would climb right around the 3/4 mark (should be at 1/2). The

The point of turning on the heater is to get flow through the heater core push out air from the core. If you don't have a heater it can't have air in it.

The description of the problem sounds like either a clogged radiator or air in the cooling system from a leaking head gasket.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

The PO also removed the Thermostat. When I start the car, and fill up the expansion tank, there is no flow when I burp the line. Its as if my water pump is bad.

Post up a picture of the engine.

A simple way to tell is seeing if it says 3.5 on the intake or 3.2/3.5 (3.5 is a b35, 3.2/3.5 is b34)

Then just buy the appropriate parts for that engine.

Are you sure? Cause if it came out of an E28 5 Series it's an M30B34 or earlier. B35's came in the 88+ E24 6, the E32 7(iirc), and the E34 5 series. I can't speak to the parts difference, but better safe than sorry.

B35 is from 88+ 5, 6, and 7 series cars. Thermostat is same on b34 and b35 cars. Flush the radiator, and put a thermostat in.
