    What the Heck?!?!?

yeah well...my sister's jeep broke down over thanksgiving break (we both go to Appalachian) so we just left her car home to get worked on. So last night we went home to pick her car back up. So we get home and everything...and I go outside like 15 min after I get home to pack up her car. I walked past my car and heard some crinkling sound and it looked like my back winsheild was wet!!! I was like huh?? its not raining. Ao I go closer and my freakin back winsheild is cracking up!!!!!!!! Nothing hit it, it did not get really cold then hot it just cracked up. I have to thank Nick or whoever tinted the windows before me cause thats holding the window in. I have NEVER seen a window that cracked up before. So the irony is now I left my car at home :( x 10000 I will try to get some pics up later today.

How could this just happen?!?! there is no spidering from one corner or anything, no impact point just freakin crackes over the whole thing.

    thanks guys,
    Charlie

Perhaps different rates of expansion/contraction taken to the extreme between the tint and the glass...

    Is the rear window original?

Your signature picture has been removed since it contained the Photobucket "upgrade your account" image.

I'd put money on that. I've heard of it happening with home windows as Chris said.

why does that matter? When the car is turned off, the defroster turns off too right?

                        Easy.

The way the glass cracked is the norm for tempered safety glass. Lots of little chunks are alot less likely to cut you in an accident.
