    check panel Oil light help?

i just redid my Oil pan gasket, after it cracked and was welded. so new oil, filter etc. anyways since then my oil light on my check panel comes on. the first two times i pulled over to check for leaks and checked the dipstick all seemed well and when its cold oil is at 3/4 up between low and full. also my Oil pressure light never comes on with this light im kinda stumped

Edit: oil is Castrol GTX High Mileage 20w-50, Wix oil filter.

    1) Fill it up to the top line, 2) replace your oil level sender.
The first car I ever rode in was an e30

          lol yea its plugged in

it does not stay on 100% of the time just often

also the part/sensor/thing that is mounted inside the Engine block that goes into the oil pan area has been cut since i have had the car so idk if that is causing it also anyone know what im talking about?

it goes through the block into the pan right? but the light never came on before Except when my oil went low and the oil pressure light came on soon after. thats what is confusing me.
