The lights are probably burnt out. You can either buy a new light bar from Pelican or do a LED conversion. Here is how to do it.

You do not need to remove all that stuff to get the OBC out. Here is a simpler way...

I've 'read' many posts, but without pics, it's hard to get a good visual. Well I have now repaired both my lights in each on me e30's. Here is my official write up and most importantly pictures! This version is the short cut (read: time saving) version versus complete removal of the front panel/fas

On my very first e30 the obc was doing the same thing. I had had it for about 3 months and one day I was in a bad mood and my friend asked what it was and whats it supposed to do? I got pissed off and punched it, then it turned on and worked ever since.

Have you tried the checking your fuses? 10, 12, 21, 23, and 27 all could cause problems with the OBC. Start with that first, it could be that easy. Locations 10, 12, 21, and 23 are 7.5 amps and location 27 is a 30 amp fuse. Sometimes the fuses can look visually acceptable and still be bad. My OBC went blank last night and was remedied by simply replacing a fuse in location 23.

It's good preventative maintenance to replace all of your fuses and it could easily solve some nagging problems.

Here is a quick link to some cheap OEM fuses.

The fuse box mainly consists of 7.5 amp, 15 amp, and 30 amp fuses, so you only need to buy those three packages.

If a blown fuse isn't the cause, follow the links that the guys from above posted. Great, indepth DIYs on removal and replacement.

Also, pick yourself up a Bentley service manual for the BMW E30. It is the absolute best tool for any E30 owner to have.

                Welcome to r3v!
