325e to 325i MAF sensor swap

I have an '87 325e and am looking at getting an '85 325i. It appears that the MAF sensor in the 325i is bad, can I swap it from the 325e?

There was no 325i until 1987 in the US.

It's called an AFM not a MAF by the way.
