Magnecor Wires w/ Stock Inductive Pick-Up

Just bought some Magnecor wires for my '89 325i (part #6767). Having trouble with the install because I really want to use the stock inductive pickup. The car will run fine without it, but my mileage will suffer (so I've read).

So how do I remove the boot from my new #6 wire without ruining it? I don't want to send the wires back for them to do it unless I have to. Anyone know how/done this before?

EDIT: Got everything sorted out. Frustrating as hell getting the pickup over the connector of the new wire.

Buttoned everything back up and now I have horrible throttle response from a stop and hard starting. Extremely frustrating because I double checked everything. Engine sounds fine when running and no check engine lights.

      That sounds like intake leaks.

It seems I spoke to soon about the hard starting, it was only a one time thing. The throttle hesitation is sometimes there, sometimes not. When the engine is cold however, it's ridiculously horrible. Seems to go away for the most part at operating temp.

Everything was fine with the OEM wires. I just replaced them because they were old, brittle, and had numerous cracks in the boots.

EDIT: I read nothing but good things about Magnecor wires, so I justified saving money with them. I am normally very suspicious of lower-priced, off-brand parts.

I really doubt that wires are a problem. What you describe sounds most like intake leaks. Have a smoke test run.
