    Rebuild necessary??

I have a 87 325IS engine in the garage that I'll be swapping into my 88 Eta in the spring. Since it only has about 110k on it and was bolted up to an auto... should I bother with a rebuild before I bolt it up? It runs like butter as it is, dunno if I should mess with it.

    rebuild? no

but it would be a good idea to:
pull the oil pan off and inspect the bearings
    check valve clearances

nah, just replace every gasket, seal and hose you can find. it's no fun trying to change some of those inside the car...
