Any one say Diff bushing? Or is it LSD diff? My lsd was makin a odd sound as i let off or on gas. Put in a friction modifier. Quite as could be.

If you get a random thud when clutching out. It is probably one or more half shafts. You'll also get a stutter at times too which can feel like a CSB.

I think I'm leading towards the halfshafts right now. The diff is mounted properly, it has motul synth fluid (read that it doesnt require additional friction modifier) the mounting bushing is poly and no signs of any deterioration on any of the other poly bushings.

Gonna put the halfshafts from my sisters e30 onto my car next weekend and see if the problem is gone, if so I'll buy some used ones and redo the boots and pack em with new grease.

With the rear of the car in the air, the parking brake set, and the transmission in neutral the half shafts, differential, and drive shaft can be checked for play/wear by trying to rotate each part.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.
