Headlight problem related to SI board?

I pulled the SI board out temporarily in order to solder some new batteries in. I plugged the cluster back in without the SI board and now my headlights and fog lights dont work?? Are these directly related? I checked the relay and fuses and they are fine. Anyone?

They should work independtly, at least in my experience.

Have you made sure you didn't disconnect the large connector going into the headlight switch?

yeah, the only plugs I disconnected were the ones running directly to the cluster. The parking lights and tail lights work.

could it just be a relay? doesnt the fogs tie into the low beam? so if thats the case, if the low beam relay is shot then the fogs wouldn't work either correct?

you sure you didnt bump the headlight connector, you took the knee bolster out. Right?
It could be something else, but you were just in the area, chances are something was disturbed.

Yes, I did remove the knee bolster. when you say headlight connector, what exactly are you referring to?

BTW when I engage the headlights at the second setting I hear the relay click...not sure if that's useful

the relay clicking is a good thing, means its getting power. im pretty sure the SI board has to be in, in order for your alternator to work btw. i can't remember if the cluster just has to be plugged in, or if the SI board has to be in too... this probably doesn't make sence as im going on 32 hours of being up...

dash wont matter for headlights. I drove for a week or so before with no dash, I know it was really cool!! was doing something to it, and didnt have/feel like putting it back in at the time.
