Or is stock best for turbo applications. My car wont be turboed for awhile and Im not sure if thiers a cam thats good for N/A and F/I. I have an 88 325iX. i ran a 290 dibilas dynamics cam in my 325, and it idled good enough for street, and ran great. no reason for schrick springs, just get origional BMW new ones. guaranteed you wont break a rocker arm, and german autobahn tested with countless revlimiter bouncing! i though a 272 was the stock profile??? and no, i really didnt think it was that HUGE of an improvement. also didnt think that cam, with 19# inj., and M30 air flow meter swap really made a large improvement. used alot more gas though.
go with a 290 or 300 if you can get a dibilas cam, they are a german company here in germany, and I know BMP sells thier products, and rebadges them with thier logo, so maybe you can get a cam from them. the price is almost half the price as a schrick too. and if your in germany, they will dyno you car for a very small price if you want after you buy from them, so its not garbage.

my idle is fine, once it's warmed up it runs pretty smooth really.
also, I didn't notice any loss in torque, but the surge from 3500-6000rpm is addicting as hell! I also love the sound, but that could be because of the shorty headers. I'm using stock valve springs (new) which shrick says is just fine with this cam.

I know a guy here is VA who has over 280,000 mi, IFRC, on his es that has a dibilas 300something cam. Its still got the stock bottom end, he said it runs great, idled okay but his gas mileage went to total shit.--Will
