I do have the lining out of the white Cabrio so will try to take one when I get a chance. The metal at the very front of the well is punched up so its a 1/2" slit facing forward. Unless it was clear and letting light in from underneath you would only see the bump from above but not the opening since its quite close to the front of the well. I only found mine cause I knew it HAD to be there and yes, it was plugged. -

That Sounds Legit .Your sunroof also drains down into the trunk and into some plastic fittings on the side of the trunk under the bumper. Make sure the hoses are still attached and the plastic parts are in place.
You can also buy water absorbing things to help get the moisture out. I bought a few from Lowe's out of the closet section. They are basically a plastic tub filled with moisture absorbing gravel type stuff. Just leave it in your trunk when you are parked.
Every E30 Owner Have the same problem .

There is a drain slit just under where the jack sits and it gets plugged. I cleared mine with a small slotted screwdriver.Leave a comment:

the grommets where the sidemarker light wires exit the trunk were leaking on my carLeave a comment:

When I finally find the source of this condensation, I intend to shame it woefully hard with my best irish accent.

Sunroof drains are clear. New trunk seal and antenna grommet on the way. I had the taillights off recently and the seals seamed fresh, but who knows.

I would check you rear light seals, as these perish over time allowing water to drip inside, most common cause over here.
Lift up your carpet and slowly pour water over the top of the light from the outside, if they are perished, you'll see the water beading inside.Leave a comment:

Another possibility could be the seals on the sides of the trunk, under the rear bumper. And the condensation can be caused by the standing water in the trunk evaporating.Leave a comment:

Right, I've read about those 2, but I'm getting a lot, like the whole inside of the trunk lid covered in drops of water.

Fixing a leaking antenna is easy, replace the grommet. The other common problems relating to the trunk are the tail light seals and then the trunk seal. Of those two, the tail light seals are more commonly a problem.Leave a comment:

Also have noticed a lot of water accumulation in the left side of the trunk. I suspect the antenna or body moldings near the quarter windows. Anyone have experience fixing a leaky antenna?
