I asked about the support that holds the airbox to the car, the one that the cruise control bolts to. if it's broken, missing, or you have an aftermarket intake with no support, then the ICV and intake boot end up holding up your air filter/AFM, which would make the tube split (and even the boot will begin to tear).

also what about motor mounts? if they are old/broken, the engine will move a lot more. the airbox is fixed to the car, and all the movement is taken up by the intake boot and that rubber tube.

Your question makes much more sense to me now.
AFM mount is solid, intake is all stock.
Motor mounts: I have no idea when/if they've ever been replaced. I'll add a set to my next Blunttech order for sure!
