2 if i wanted to save and pay all at once which is where i think i lost you could go that route 2, 3 being this is as stated a very long project no need to rush into paying for this car, as i am working on other projects. my hutch pro racer bmx is costing more then this car right now.

again thank you for chiming in. if you have further to expound upon please pm me as i do not want to frighten away folks. the charlie sheen in the wraith. got it oggie. lol, thanks for helping

and you already stated that cutting into the transmission tunnel would mis align its points.
now its plug the car right down the middle. idk. thats going to take some research as the cars i have seen modified to widen have been severd right down its middle. i have one quote for welding the chassis, from a fabricator. as i will do all the non metal work.
dash seems to be tricky but options are available. vinyl recover from just dashes is a last resort as they are hefty in price.
maybe something like the 9ff porsche if anyone has seen it. hood, trunk, front and rear subframes could be done local & taken from the donar
to save time and money once the car has its added width just to roll the car outta the shop. im sure ill be using mz3 subframe rear, but not sure about what type of trailing arm
mz3,e30,e34, group a. the sway bars have not been mentioned they need to be custom as well, front and rear shock tower reinforcement
rear seat needs extra material, ( it will be kept in the car ) so the donor car will be an asset to this project.
Did you even click the links I posted? It's basically a how-to...

Two years and still working on it. Yeah, it's an MGB, but the e30 would be just as difficult.

suspension geometry will be the least of your concern for quite a bit of time...

You would need to modify the front knuckles too so that the tires would still travel in the correct arcs when you turn.

If you insert a plug in down the middle of the body and use the stock suspension, the suspension geometry will not be affected.

The reason I think it would not make a satisfactory street car is that it is going to be very difficult and very expensive to get the interior to come out right. If the widening was done correctly, the car would be very drivable.

A few other details that I forgot are that steering column will need to be modified and a custom rear seat will be needed.

Hey Golum, the 930 turbo is a regular 911 body with widened flares.

If you sold whatever you are smoking, you'd probably have the car paid off by now.

wow, thanks! TO THE FIRST REPSONDER YEAH I REALIZE THAT! should be a fun project... an i can see this is the board to join for help in this area. will keep posted. ( probably shoulden't though. )

and i'm asking about geometry??? why would you say that widening a car would not YIELD a unsatisfactory vehicle ???

relatively speaking say i added wide arches to fit wider tires. the difference being WHAT

besides i want it to look like a 930turbo. lol. or a jet fighter. hahah.

no i'd like to widen this car for handling. again not using m fenders or xi arches. stock looking. if you can help me please, bestow your knowledge if not please bestow your knowledge, as either way im sure i can lean a thing or two as being a member here.

if it makes you FEEL better call me GOLUM
