    fuel pressure regulator reliability?

    would like your thoughts on this. I have EFI parts from a 318i that I plan to use to convert my 2002 to injection. I have the used fuel pressure regulator (which I'll check out of course before installing)... but I was wondering if they tend to go bad or are they normally trouble free?

    Could save me a hundred bucks... but not worth it if they are prone to go bad. After all I am buying things such as fuel pump/sender and fuel injectors all new.

    The FPR is usually fairly reliable, but the diaphragm can fail or the FPR valve can leak. It is a 20'ish year old part, so I'd just replace it.
    The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

      Why not try using it first, then if it doesn't work correctly, buy a new one? No point in buying parts if you don't need to.

        yep, as I said I will test it (i think it should be 3bar?)... was just curious if this item tends to be a commonly replaced item or not. You know how certain parts on certain cars have intregrity and they never seem to need replacing? That's all I'm wondering since I am not familiar with E30's.
