Above sump crack ? Help ASAP ?

Hey guys , had my car lowered for almost a week now and I noticed my car was dropping a huge amount of oil.

Automatically thought sump has a crack ! Jacked it up and on closer inspection the block above the sump has the tiniest fracture ?

Can this be welded up ? Or what are my options ?

    Cheers louis

Thats an odd place for a crack to appear. I'm thinking you must do SOMETHING otherwise the crack will just keep traveling and none of the options Im aware of are going to be ideal with the engine in place, especially if its in a tight spot. If you do have to pull it I suspect a swap will make more sense.

First thing would be to drill a small hole at the end of the crack to keep it from traveling further. Watch for filings or better yet remove the pan. If it can be welded in place than its worth a try. Otherwise Id be tempted to JB Weld it and if possible run a steel strap across the crack and tap it to the block. Then start shopping for a replacement.
