    87 325e parts for a 1991 318is

Hey guys came across a 325e 5 speed coupe, was damaged in an accident and written off. What parts can I use off this car for my 91 318is ? Is anything better? I know the engine can be used and built but I have no current plans to pull the m42.

I can't think of anything off the ETA car that would be an improvement over what your 318is came with.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

^ That said, almost all of the parts would be interchangeable aside from things like the steering column, bumpers/bumper trim, ECU, and a few other small things I'm forgetting. It can be awesome to have a car like that around for odd trim replacement/improvement and whatever else might come up if you had the space for it.

That's what I will be picking it up for, has a fairly clean black leather sport interior. I will use it to replace my worn out tan interior. So the rest of the car is essentially useless to me, that's good to know.

        thanks!

Keep stuff like dashboard buttons, bulbs, small trim pieces, stuff like that. It'll almost definitely come in handy in the future.

OK. What about the rear diff? I'm reading the 325's diff makes the 318more fun?

The diff in the E will make the 318 less fun, albeit more economical if you don't mind bicycle like acceleration.

Definitely not more fun! Haha just more economical. I was very close to swapping my open 4.10 out of mine in favor of a 3.73 LSD, but then I was in an accident. I wouldn't even consider going numerically lower than 3.73 on an M42. And an e would most likely have a 2.xx ratio I would think?

                    Early models do it better.
