I was ready to install my "oem" mirrors I received from a fellow member and then noticed this situation...

    Please help, ideas?

The plug on the car must be for a late model and the plug on the mirror is early model.

I've never seen an E30 with a car side plug like yours. (And I've owned a LOT)

I'm thinking something has been changed on the car side of things.

the first one im only 50% on, it's either the early model plug or heated mirror plug, but judging by the early model body color, it's just an early power mirror.

the second pic is a late model car's mirror plug. my vert and m3 have that plug
          Much wow

+1 to that looking like a heated power mirror, vertical/horizontal/heat/ground pins. 3 pin connector has tobe lacking the heater pin

The first pic is the female plug attached to a 1988 vert. Second pic is male plug from oem mirror.

So there's nothing coming from the car that matches the plug on the mirror? I just changed my driver mirror a couple days ago and there was a plug coming from the car that was the same size and shape as the one on your mirror there.

Nope. Could have been rewired by former owner, he did sound system himself from looks of it.

The connector from the mirror is a heated mirror connection.

Are you sure? That would mean that my car and my 86 eS parts car have heated mirrors...I think that's just the stock wiring. Although I think I remember reading that the heated plug didn't require any different wiring than stock to use.

No I am not sure: however according to this link:

Either 1. that is a heated mirror connector, or 2. all mirrors are able to be heated by getting new glass.

                          I think it's the latter.

The connector coming from the mirror is a REGULAR E30 MIRROR PLUG. Sheesh people.
