M3 Springs?

    M3 Springs?

    I found these on ebay and was wondering how much somthing like these are worth?

    $50-$75.

    They lower a stock E30 about an inch all around.

          Springs could not be easier to replace. My friend and I were able to do it in no time. The rears took 10mins total.

                Installation of the rear springs is easy. Once the car is on jackstands, disconnect the rear swaybar links and the shocks....this will allow the trailing arms to fall to their lowest point. Removal of the stock springs might require a little effort since there may be a some weight load still on them...but not much. Putting in the M3 springs will be easy since they are shorter in height....just set them in place, reconnect the shocks and swaybar link and you're done.

                The fronts are much more involved. Basically, you'll want to remove the entire strut assembly from the car and disassemble the top mount and bearing to get the spring out. Only catch is once you start loosening this thing up, be ready for the spring to unload all its stored energy (since its still under load). One quick way to accomplish this is to lay the strut assembly on the ground with the top pointed away from everything. Then take an impact wrench, and while standing behind the strut (top facing away from you), reach around with the impact wrench and remove the nut. My friend did this and the top pieces fly about 15ft across the floor as the spring releases its energy. A more safe solution is to get a spring compressor since you will need it for the installation part of this process....which is the reverse of the disassembly process.

                    Oh well, whatever works I guess :roll:

                    Personally I would go for the spring compressor..... but if you want a jackass moment, bring a tape recorder as well and get that on video, I'll love to have a laugh at that :P
