    newbie, for the third time

Ok, I picked up my #3 e30 last Saturday.

    1985 318i, m10 power BABY!

Anyway, I believe the distributor is broken, there is too much play and the timing jumps about 5 degrees in either direction.

I may pickup a used distributor for the time being, but ultimately I want electronic ignition.

Any suggestions? Include part #s there is not much on R3v about m10s so I am also venturing into the 320 and 2002 world... wish me luck :)

I have a turbo that is dying to be installed so that will tell you where I am heading with this bad boy!

I am a simple guy, just bask in my glow.

I don't like the hack-job parts I have seen on e30tech for m20s. I have seen points ellimination "kits" for old Chevy v8s,\. something like that is what I am looking for, but cannot find.

I know the M10 is lighter but it seriously can't be that more nimble than a E30 that has a M20 in it.

They are. They weigh in at 4-500lbs less than a 325i and have better weight distribution; especially if you move the battery to the trunk. Why do you think M3s are 4 bangers?
