Mine does the same thing; it closes the door and I hear a small motor spinning. Big deal, it's 23 year old technology. It isn't perfect but if it blows cold A/C, then I wouldn't worry too much about it.

Its B but there is a lower flap connected to the one visible in your pic that moves with it. The servo motor is connected to the lower flap via rod and socket.

        Thank you for the reply.

If the recirc flap is flap "B", then what is flap "A" for?

Also, what is the easiest way to gain access to flap "B"? DIY available anywhere? Im guessing its the same steps to get to the blower motor..

Flap A is for the center vent. To get to flap B you have to go in thru the panel in the engine bay.

Why don't you just move the middle slider to the left so that none of the vents are "turned on"? When I have all my vents options to the left, nothing comes out.

If you want the AC system to work you need to have the middle slider about 2/3 to the right so it activates the AC micro switch.

I think he's saying to keep all outside air from coming in... when the AC is off. Just set all sliders to the left and turn on recirc.

Other than the flapper motor noise (which may or may not be an issue), everything seems to be in good working order. As stated a few times, the blower is supposed to come on with the AC or Recirc button, even at fan 0.

QFT. Try dealing without climate control in Southwest Florida. Yes, it gets very hot down here and it's not a dry heat like AZ where you stand in the shade and are able to cool off; Florida weather isn't that nice. The humidity is nearly inescapable unless you go into an AC environment.

To keep all outside air from coming in you do not want to turn on recirc which will run the fan.. especially with closed vents
