So the car was hit in drivers front. The ecu was a little banged up. The car turns over and all my electronics work except the ecu. I have 12v at the ecu but the check engine light will not turn on when the key is in the on position nor will it fire when cranking. I threw another ecu in from another e46 (i know it wont start the car) to make sure the check engine light works and it does. So my problem is the ecu but when i repluged the ecu in that was in the accident i got the check engine light to work for 2 seconds. The ecu has no visual damage to the board. Is their a way to have this fixed or who do i send my other ecu to to have it demobilized? Thanks for your help.
